Jewelry making is a
fascinating process. The most
important part of the process for me is working with my hands. Everything is
made by hand, hand fabricated, hand carved, hand forged, and hand designed. The
many techniques involved in making jewelry provide me with endless opportunities
to learn something new and to create something unique.
The materials lead the
creative process. I rarely begin
with a fixed design; instead the pieces come together on my bench as they
co-create with my hands. It often feels
as if the materials themselves create the piece. It is exciting to be a part of the process. My work is filled with variety. I often make one piece after another
that is completely different in style, technique and materials.
